The hundreds of :60 and :30 radio spots we've created are all stories, told in a tiny sliver of time using only a handful of words. We create concepts. We write content. We are copywriters. I knew I wanted to work in advertising since I was 14. I've been weaving compelling stories over every form of media throughout my career. My writing commands attention using headlines and copy that hold and persuade. In addition to being a percussionist and golfer, I am known as a storyteller with a good sense of humor, (which comes in handy on the golf course) so one-liner headlines come to me with ease.
My search for authenticity spans decades studying the human condition. In branding and creative sessions, I represent the consumer and guide our writing to create stories that draw the audience into the experience. I am a ruthless editor, with focus on clarity, continuity, cadence and brand support. Stories written for content and copy work better if they have rhythm composed of words and phrases that grab and hold the readers. I've got rhythm.
Dove Canyon Country Club -Orange County, CA – Worked with Jack Nicklaus from conception to design. and through the first four years of golf membership.
Saddle Creek Country Club - Copperopolis, CA – Launched real estate and membership programs for this championship course; also wrote the course playing guide.
Marbella Country Club - Orange County, CA – Created the entire membership program including the formation of a Marbella Club membership that secured the first 100 charter members in record time.
Sun Lakes Country Club - Beaumont, CA – Opened this course for The Presley Companies in conjunction with senior housing utilizing Olympic decathlon champion Bob Mathias as spokesperson.
Isla Navidad Club de Golf - Barra de Navidad, Mexico – Used the 27-holes of championship golf to showcase the resort property. Capitalized on my ability to speak, write and read Spanish fluently
La Contenta Lakes -Valley Springs, CA – Did the opening program for the introduction of the first nine holes and the initiation of a housing sales program.
Emerald Valley Golf Course - Eugene, OR – Reintroduced this public course after its purchase by Paloma Golf Group. Re-branded the course utilizing clever small space newspaper ads and doubled the number of annual rounds while upgrading the customer experience.
Bear Creek Country Club - Murrieta, CA – Arranged and produced a successful press day orientation and tournament to re-launch this championship Jack Nicklaus layout. Developed event timing to coincide with the purchase of the course and all available housing lots by Watt Industries.
Northstar-at-Tahoe - Tahoe City, CA – Promoted seasonal rounds at this 6,500’ altitude course located on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore for Weyerheuser Company, leveraging contacts in the hospitality and travel industries.
Genoa Lakes Golf and Country Club - Genoa Lakes, NV – Promoted this course on the California side of South Lake Tahoe to increase annual rounds. Developed a newsletter, supporting collateral material and a public relations program.
Palm Desert Country Club - Palm Desert, CA – I was hired to enhance the customer experience at this public course that was once the home of the Hope tournament qualifying rounds. On a daily basis I opened or closed the facility, set up outside services and volunteers with radios and tee sheets, managed the tee sheet and sent golfers to the first tee, handled problems and complaints and kept all merchandise stocked and displayed for sale.
